rear lower bag brackets are made and welded them to the axle. I made them 4.5 inches off the top of the axle. waiting on fittings to see how it will lift. will post pics when I get a chance.

Re: 1991 Chevy C1500 Project

Tried to put a bolt in the bottom of the firestone bag and the threads came apart from the bag plate. I was like damn. but I ordered two air lift 2600s and they should be here by next week. I also have pretty much all my fittings that I ordered from thorbros and bag riders. Trying to get it done before summer showdown in Warner Robins Ga in July. I would like to have it driveable By then. I still need to notch for the tierods lol.

Getting ready to cut for the tie rod ends with a plasma cutter and then weld in some pipe. Will be borrowing the plasma cutter. Wish I could buy one.

Got the frame notched just need to weld in the pipe. I took a pic with the phone but can't figure out how to post it. I usually use the laptop but it has decided to stop charging lol. I would like to run the wires and lines this weekend.

Re: 1991 Chevy C1500 Project

Both sides are welded and cleaned up. I believe the only thing left for the front as far as welding is the shock mounts but I will wait till the bags and tires are back on. I also started mounting my valves on the frame for the front. I did buy a distribution block and a 25 ft air hose for flat tires and other stuff and picked a viair drain **** from a friend in town. And my smc 3/8 water traps came in.

Re: 1991 Chevy C1500 Project

Ordered the Edelbrock 1721 mechanical fuel pump. It should be here tomorrow. Was going to go with the holley blue pump but I didn't want the noise and it would have been mounted in the bed. And I'll probably run ss braided lines from cell to pump to carb. Not sure if I will run -8an from pump to carb but my fittings on my cell are -8an. Any suggestions.

Re: 1991 Chevy C1500 Project

Sorry for the delay on the updates. Got the truck back running with the fuel cell and the edelbrock mechanical fuel pump. Ran -8an from cell to pump and -6an from pump to carb and used edelbrock 8134 with blue filter and used a fuel pressure take off fitting. I'm running bag on bar now and just mounted rear shocks today. Installed new upper ball joints and all new brake lines including ss hard lines on the axle. I have lots of pics that I'll get uploaded later. And I also hauled the truck and put it in the show at slamfest in Gainesville Florida. Had a blast and also have pictures from that as well.

Re: 1991 Chevy C1500 Project

Been thinking hard about doing a ls swap. Most likely a 5.3 or a 6.0 if i can find one. Would like to find a donor truck that way i can take my time with it. Trying to get something with better mpgs and reliablilty.
